Theme for this year's Liberty Day is "Red, White and Boom!" Music Friday night by the band "Total Assets." Also Friday, Shelby County Arts Council will host an artists reception from 6-7:30 p.m. showcasing VSA Arts of Alabama Exhibit, featuring artwork from people with disabilities. Also on tap for the weekend, Miss Shelby County and Miss Alabama will sign autographs, Saturday from 1-2:45 p.m. at Main/College streets. Parade on Saturday begins at 3:30 p.m. Other activities include childrens carnival, Classic Cars Cruise-In, museum tours, military displays and a Hall of Memories at First Baptist Church. Closing Saturday night will be Fireworks and the "Deputy Five" band at Shelby County High School Football Stadium.
