Event Description:
Shelby County celebrates its 194th birthday. A pre-program beginning at 1 p.m. will feature Creek Indian Cultural Demonstrations. Special Guests will include Dr. Edwin C. Bridges, Alabama Department of Archives and History, will speak on "The Birthing of a State" Also, Lee Sentell, Alabama Department of Tourism Director, will discuss the 2012 State Tourism Campaign - "The Year of Alabama Food". Also scheduled is Robert G. Thrower, Jr., a Poarch Creek and the Cultural Director for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians
