Oak Mountain State Park

As Alabama's largest park, Oak Mountain State Park provides 9,940 acres of pine-studded ridges and lush green hardwood bottoms. The park offers vacation cottages, golf, pro shop with snack bar, improved camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, mountain bike trails, backpacking, a demonstration farm and horseback riding facilities. Pelham Civic Complex

The Pelham Civic Complex is conveniently located next to the Verizon Wireless Music Center with easy access to I-65. The complex is perfect for conventions, sporting events, trade shows and includes two indoor ice skating rinks. (More)

Veterans Park on Valleydale

Veterans Park on Valleydale features 5K and 8K cross country courses, four beach volleyball courts and more. Veterans Park is Hoover's newest and largest park. It features a professionally developed cross-country course and is host to the Great American Cross Country Race. (More)

Lay Lake

This 12,000 acre lake has 289 miles of shoreline and has played host to the Bass Masters Classic Tournament three times. Lay Lake is best known for its spotted bass and largemouth bass fishing. A high quality largemouth bass and spotted bass fishery exists at Lay Reservoir. (More)

Veterans Park Alabaster

A 90-acre facility with five youth baseball/softball fields with a concession stand and press box, two miles of lighted walking tracks with benches for resting along the way, regulation size skatepark, a bluebird trail, two playground areas, restrooms, nine pavilions available for rental, several play meadows, batting cages, and an arbor.

Events hosted at the facility include numerous baseball and softball tournaments including the Alabama Community College Conference Championships.

The park is maintained by the City of Alabaster. (more)

Pelham Racquet Club

The Pelham Racquet Club is a public tennis facility consisting of 20 clay courts and five hard courts, all lighted with above tournament grade lighting. The entire facility is beautifully landscaped on three tiers providing function and visibility to all courts. The facility hosts approximately 15 tournaments each year including the USTA Pro-Tennis Challenger featuring participants from 27 nations. In addition to tournaments, lessons, league play, ladders and socials are active year round. Racquet services and a complete pro shop are also available.

University Of Montevallo Sports Complex

The Robert M. McChesney Student Activity Center (SAC) is a 90,000 square foot state-of-the-art recreation and athletic center. It includes facilities for weight/cardio training, racquetball, wally ball, walking and swimming. The cardio area has a five- television cardio theatre accessed through personal FM receivers. In addition, the Peoples Bank and Trust Company Arena serves as the home court for the University’s intercollegiate Volleyball and Women and Men's Basketball teams. An eighteen-hole Disc Golf Course has recently been added to the area outside the facility.
